What is a “Covered Auto?”
A policyholder’s covered auto is a vehicle on which a premium is paid and any temporary substitute auto for when the covered vehicle is out of normal use because of breakdown, servicing, repair, loss or destruction.
However, this does not cover non-owned autos. Examples: The policyholder is vacationing and renting a car; there is no coverage. The policyholder borrows a truck to move; there is no coverage.
Are trailers covered?
If the trailer doesn’t have its own Roadside Assistance coverage but is attached to an auto with Roadside Assistance, the trailer will have up to $150.00 in coverage (regardless of the radius). There will be one limit applied to both the auto and the trailer.
If both the auto and trailer have Roadside Assistance premium charged to their policy, then (and only then) will the policyholder be able to have separate tow coverages for each.
How many times can a car be towed?
The Roadside Assistance program allows for one tow per disablement unless the shop where it was originally towed is unable to perform the service(s) required to repair the vehicle.
